A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The negative aspect of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Web Hosting
You’ll be able to configure a catch-all mailbox with ease in case you’ve got a cloud web hosting plan with us. The Email Manager tool in our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet really simple to use, and it will allow you to activate various features, including the catch-all one, with no more than several clicks. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be shown in alphabetical order in this section and to the right of each of them you will notice a small "Catch-all" icon. Clicking it once will enable the feature, clicking on it for a second time will disable it. Since you can have only one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will notify you if you’ve already got another one with this feature activated or if you have active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all feature can be enabled without any effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll see a small-size logo conveniently situated directly next to each of them. With only one single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option through the context menu that will pop up. If any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
